The story of Moses and his strange encounter with the Burning Bush is retold by Father Codd. (Hold on for the ride!)

Father Kevin begins this reflection by attending first to the invitation found in Isaiah 55 to "come to the water". That invitation finds beautiful expression in Jesus's encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well of Jacob (John 4). The dialogue between the two leads the woman not only to come to know herself and Jesus, but eventually to become an apostle of Jesus to her own community, who also come to believe that Jesus is indeed the Messiah. 

Listen in as Father Kevin introduces us to the prophet Isaiah, but more importantly his spiritual heir, "Second Isaiah" or "Isaiah Jr.". His profound Suffering Servant imagery gives the very earliest Christians the words they need to share with others the improbable victory of Jesus through suffering, humiliation, and death. 

Father Kevin's first Lenten Reflection for the 2016 Lenten season takes on the story of Adam and Eve and what went so seriously wrong in their relationship with God. Father's reflection is about 45 minutes, followed then by about 15 minutes of questions and comments from the participants.

The subtle and profound experience of temptation was one Jesus endured. The character of his temptations in the desert, knowing  that he is God's own Beloved Son, are worthy of deep reflection. 

Father Kevin offers a brief reflection on the dual significance of the ashes we use to begin the Lenten season. 

Jesus' baptism in the Jordan is an experience of hearing deeply the voice of God. The Father reveals to Jesus his profound love for him, his Son. (Moms' voices sometimes do the same for their sons and daughters!)
